Parents often seek therapy when they notice persistent challenges that impact their child’s emotional well-being, behavior, academic performance, or social interactions. Some common difficulties that lead parents or young adults to pursue therapy may be the following:

Difficulties with managing emotions, frequent mood changes, irritability, or sadness

Constant worrying, fears, or anxiety that interfere with daily activities or social situations

Low self-confidence, negative self-talk, or reluctance to try new things due to a lack of confidence

The first session involves a consultation where Dr. Scheinfield will discuss your current concerns, obtain background information, and discuss what you hope to achieve with regard to your treatment goals.
Therapy sessions are 50 minutes in length. Psychological testing can vary between 2-3 appointments, though the time required is dependent upon the scope of the evaluation and the pace at which the individual completes the testing measures.
The duration of therapy varies, and it depends upon an individuals’ needs, the goals for treatment, and the type of treatment that is most appropriate for the presenting difficulties.
At the consultation appointment, Dr. Scheinfield will discuss your presenting concerns and goals for treatment, which will help guide the next steps that are specifically tailored to your child or individual needs.
Dr. Scheinfield offers both in-person and online sessions. Telehealth sessions are conducted via a secure video platform to ensure confidentiality. Psychological testing is only offered in person.
Dr. Scheinfield is out of network with all insurance plans. Upon request, a statement or “superbill” can be provided for clients to submit to their insurance company if they are seeking reimbursement. It is recommended to contact your insurance company in advance of your first appointment to understand your coverage benefits.
